How to renew plastic furniture
Most of us own plastic furniture for various reasons. It looks pretty, it’s lightweight, easier to store, and convenient for the occasional parties and get-togethers. But imagine inviting a bunch of people over, only to realize that your reliable plastic furniture looks like drab. It seems dull, faded, and has patches that you hadn’t noticed before. How do you fix this, without having to spend a fortune on new furniture?
We have a couple of solutions to renew plastic furniture with very little cost or effort!
Things you will need
WD-40® Multi Use Product
White vinegar
Baking soda
Cloth
Car Wax
Step 1
Apply a water and vinegar solution
Wash the plastic furniture with water and normal detergent to get rid of the surface dust and dirt on the chair or table. Once the furniture is washed clean, spray a water and vinegar solution all over the chair, and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. This will help kill any mould formed on it over time. Wipe clean with a cloth right after.
Step 2
Clean and scrub
Another option to renew plastic furniture is to mix a little water with baking soda to make a thick paste. Once the paste is ready, scrub it all over the chair. Then, rinse the chair with clean water, and wipe it dry. Take small amounts of car wax on a rag, and apply it all over the plastic furniture and buff it with a clean, dry cloth and let it air dry for a few hours before use.
Step 3
Let WD-40 do the work
If you’re looking for a faster, more effective solution to renew plastic furniture, with just one ingredient, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is your best bet. It not only cleans up the patchy faded marks on your plastic furniture but also adds a shine to them.
Start by cleaning off any dust, dirt, or muck accumulated on the plastic chair/table over time. Spray a generous amount of WD-40 all over the furniture, and let it sit for a minute before using a cloth to work the solution onto the plastic. Wipe away any excess residue of WD-40 with a dry rag, and your plastic furniture is ready for use!
