How to loosen a stiff tap

If there is visible dirt and gunk on your tap, it is always advisable to clean it before using WD-40. Take a wire brush and/or a cleaning rag and give it a good clean.  This should solve a lot of your problems as it is this dirt that prevents your tap from working properly.

Once you have cleaned the tap, try turning it again. If it starts working, you know what the problem was. If it doesn’t, you can move on to the next step.

Once you have waited for a few minutes, you can try turning the tap by applying some pressure anti-clockwise. You may need to try a little harder if the tap hasn’t been used for a long time.

Apart from loosening the tap, WD-40 Multi Use Product also helps you get rid of rust and prevents rust formation in the future. If you need to remove rust from your tap, all you need to do is spray WD-40 on the affected areas, wait for a few minutes, and scrape the rust off using a wire brush.
