Damp or humid conditions can lead to moisture developing on your spark plugs and in other areas of your engine. This can be especially true for Jet Skis or small boats, but it can apply to all engines. Damp can cause damage to engines and spark plugs if you do nothing. Therefore, it’s important to know how to displace moisture from spark plugs.
The first step when you want to displace moisture from spark plugs, is to remove the engine cover. This will allow free access to the engine and spark plugs.
Once the cover has been removed and you have free access to the plugs, use a wrench to remove them from the engine.
Using a cloth or a rag, wipe the area around where the spark plugs are housed. Wiping away any dirt or grime that may have built up, take your can of WD-40 Multi Use Product and spray the same area where the spark plugs are housed.
Place the spark plug on a rag or cloth and using the WD-40 Multi Use Product, spray the spark plugs with the product. Making sure you cover the entire spark plug, this will help protect it further from future rust and corrosion.
Once you have sprayed with WD-40 Multi Use Product, leave the spark plugs to dry and let the product soak in. Then once dry, replace the spark plugs and cover.
Preventative maintenance is the best way to ensure your engine can be ready to go at all times and also helps to extend the lifetime of the engine. By following the simple guide to displace moisture on spark plugs, you can help to protect all types of engines, big or small.
