Car cleaning can feel like a chore, but it can be expensive to use a car wash service every month. Follow these quick and easy tips to get the best results, each time you clean your car. Plus, you’ll keep your car in great condition, for longer.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make, is to use dishwashing liquid or detergent to clean your car. Whilst these products may remove the dirt, they can also strip off the wax and leave the paintwork vulnerable to rust. For this reason, it’s advisable to use a car shampoo. Also, consider investing in a high pressure washer as this will help remove the stubborn dirt stuck on.
Once you are happy that the car is clean, wipe it down with a chamois cloth or similar so that you aren’t left with water marks.
If you want to clean your car properly, the next step is to wax it. Waxing the car protects it from the UV rays and prevents fading. It also protects the car’s paint from bird droppings. Apply a small amount of wax on a foam wax applicator and rub it in circular motions. There are two types of wax – One that gives a white shine finish and other that gives a glossy finish. Depending on your car’s paint colour, you can choose any one.
After washing the glass with soap and wiping off the excess moisture, spray a little glass cleaner on, to make them shine. Make sure to roll down the window and clean the top of the glass.
Finally, to protect the metal parts of your car from rust, use WD-40 Multi-Use-Product. Just spray a little on the areas you want to protect. If you are unsure about whether to spray it on something, then always check with the manufacturer guidelines. And never spray it on your tyres as you’ll lose the grip.
Another useful tip is how to remove stickers pasted onto the windscreen. WD-40 Multi-Use-Product can help! Simply spray it on the sticker and patiently wait for a few minutes. The lubricant will loosen the sticker. Then, you can remove it with a plastic putty knife.
So, there you go . . . quick and easy tips on how to clean your car!
