WD-40 specialist degreaser can be used to clean power tools such as chain saws, drills, jigsaws, etc. Always follow the instruction manual when disassembling and cleaning tools to avoid any damage or accidents.
Before you start to clean power tools, make sure you are wearing protective clothing. Heavy duty gloves are essential to protect your hands from the tools’ sharp edges. Be sure to wear eye protection too.
Take apart the tools and clean each part with WD-40 fast acting specialist degreaser. Scrub with steel wool and a toothbrush to remove all the dirt and grime. Repeat the process as necessary. Next, submerge any metal parts that are not connected to wires in vinegar and leave to soak for 5 minutes.
Remove the metal parts from the vinegar, rinse with water and dry with paper towels. If needed, remove any remaining grease and rust, by using a commercial tool cleaner. Follow the guidelines for useage on the packaging.
After cleaning, make sure that there is no moisture left anywhere. Finally, use a dry toothbrush to clean all the toggles and switches.
After everything is degreased, cleaned and thoroughly dried, put everything back together. Before plugging anything into a socket, make sure there are not any cuts in the wire that might have absorbed water.
