Rust marks usually don’t respond to typical stain treatments. However, WD-40 Multi-Use product can be used to remove rust stains from a range of materials in your home.

Before trying these methods, be sure to perform a patch test, to ensure that no damage is done to the materials.

1.   Remove Rust from Window Frames

For light formations of rust, apply some WD-40 Multi-Use Product and leave it on for 1 to 3 hours. For heavy formations, the solution should be left on overnight.  There is no need to worry about children or pets in the home while using this product, as the formula is non-toxic.

2.   Remove Rust Stains from Your Carpet

Spray WD-40 Multi-Use Product onto a lint-free cloth. When the cloth is damp, go ahead and rub the cloth on the affected area until you notice that the stain is gone.

3.   Remove Rust Stains from Garden Tools

First, spray the rusted item with WD-40 Multi Use Product. You will need to ensure that you use enough to soak the area then allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Then use a wire brush to remove the rust from the item.

Sandpaper is also an effective rust remover, so you can use this to remove any remaining rust. You don’t want to leave any rust on the item as it will contribute to the growth of more rust.

Once the rust has gone, coat the surface with WD-40 to rustproof the item from further corrosion as WD-40 will act as a barrier.

4.   Remove Rust Stains from Tiles

For stubborn rust stains on tiles, using WD-40 can help.  Spray the product onto a cloth or rag then wipe over the affected area.  Make sure that the area you are working in is well ventilated.  Also, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after using the product and remove any excess WD-40 from the tiles so that they’re aren’t slippery when you walk on them!

5.   Remove Rust Stains from Brass

Dampen a microfibre cloth with WD-40 and rub the brass surface with the damp cloth. Continue to polish the object for a couple of seconds and then just let the item dry off.

While these are just 5 places where you can use WD-40 Multi-Use product to remove stains, there are still so many more uses of WD-40 for you to try out at home.
