No matter how careful you are when decorating, small splatters of paint can end up on the tile flooring.  So, here are some hints and tips to help you remove the paint stains and get the tiles spotless again.

Tips to Remove Paint Stains from Tile Flooring

The first thing to take into account, is whether the paint spill is still wet, has dried off, or is very stubborn. Once this has been determined, you can choose any of the following methods.

Option 1

If the paint is still wet, then this is the easiest time to remove the paint stains.  As soon as you notice any spill, get your hands on a wet rag and use it to clean the paint right off. Use slightly soapy water to drench the rag and wipe away any paint. This may need to be done a few times before you are satisfied with the result.

Option 2

If the paint stains have dried, then you may have to scrape them off. You will need to use a razor blade carefully to scrape the chunks off your tile floor.  Just hold the blade at a 45-degree angle and gently nudge the surface of your tile.  Go slowly, and take care not to scratch the tile. This should work on just about any type of tile and adding a little bit of soapy water may speed up the process.

Option 3 Remove Paint Stains From Tile Flooring Using WD-40

If none of the above seems to work effectively to remove the paint stains, then you can turn to WD-40 Multi-Use product. This product is available at most hardware stores and is completely safe to use on your own. Not only will this product remove normal spills, but it can also effectively remove the most stubborn paint marks on your tile flooring.

All you need to make sure is that the area you plan on working in is well-ventilated. And remember to patch test first before you do the whole floor. WD-40 will leave a layer on the tiles which you will then need to wash off with warm soapy water.

Your home will be beautiful again and the paint will be where it is meant to be – on the walls and not the tile floorings!

Common sense should be exercised whenever using WD-40 Company products. Always follow the instructions and take heed of any warnings printed on the packaging.
